Front End Analysis (FEA)
Front End Analysis (FEA) encompasses a variety of products that support new training introduction, problem resolution and financial assessments. Cape Henry Associates develops a variety of analysis products to meet the needs of the Program Manager or Training Developer.
For new systems introduction, Cape Henry Associates conducts an in-depth Training Situation Analysis to determine if additional training is required for the system. Data collection methods may include review of engineering drawings or technical manuals and interview with Subject Matter Experts, among other methods. This phase of analysis also examines existing training facilities, the student population and the current training support staff requirements. This analysis forms a basis for estimating the scope of the Instructional Systems Design process.
For legacy systems, Needs Assessment is the process used to address specific problems associated with operating and/or maintaining a system or equipment. This assessment is conducted to determine the root cause of a deficiency. If the root cause is identified as a training deficiency, a Training Program Needs Assessment and Analysis is conducted. The final product of these assessments is a recommendation for a training solution which produces the desired occupational result.
Where multiple training options are available, a Cost-Benefit or Business Case Analysis is performed. This analysis defines the potential training options, their associated costs, and the advantages and drawbacks associated with each of the options. A final recommendation is forwarded that provides the basis for a Program Manager to make an informed, defensible decision.
